The designer and I worked together for two months, revising and rewriting as directed by clients and publishers (they all liked the book, so couldn't resist tinkering with it).
The selection of artists was mine, and I had some say in the pictures, although a shot of Lady Gaga's bottom was ultimately excised. However, the foreword was written by Mick Rock – who took my favourite photo of Debbie Harry and directed my favourite Bowie video – so I can't complain.
